ScalaVet — Veterinary Clinic Management System

ScalaVet comes in three parts: the ERP panel clinic staff use all day, the mobile app owners open a few times a week, and the API feeding both.

The two interfaces are designed for different jobs and deliberately look different. The panel is an ERP console: dense tables, fixed tool strips, a status bar, a command palette (Ctrl+K), 34px row height. No cards — panels; no shadows — lines.

The mobile side is a consumer app. Same palette, same sharp geometry, same typography, but touch targets never drop below 44px and there is no density. The colour palette on both sides comes from the ScalaVisione corporate identity.

Problems it solves

  • 01Appointment clashes and scheduling that runs over the phone
  • 02Vaccination and medication reminders that cannot be followed
  • 03Clinic stock left disconnected from prescriptions and invoices
  • 04Owners unable to reach their pet's treatment history

Capabilities

01

Clash-free appointments

A clashing appointment cannot be written for a vet. Records with no vet assigned skip the check, so the clinic can deliberately leave a “vet to be decided” slot open.

02

Request flow

The owner requests an appointment rather than creating one. The request becomes an appointment only after the clinic approves it.

03

Clinic isolation

In the multi-tenant structure each clinic's data is isolated; patient, stock, and invoice records never cross the clinic boundary in any query.

04

Single-source stock ledger

Stock movement passes through a single function. When a prescription is written, a vaccine given, or an invoice issued, the ledger is posted the same way; no count discrepancy appears.

05

Medication and vaccine reminders

Scheduled jobs compute upcoming vaccine and medication doses and send the owner an Expo Push notification.

06

Medical privacy

Access to medical records is role-bound: an owner sees only their own animal's history, staff only what their permission allows.

Engineering notes

Panel and mobile share the same palette and typography but differ in density by design: one is a console for entering data all day, the other a consumer app opened a few times a week.

The panel design system (`frontend/src/erp/`) is a portable template copied as-is into other ScalaVisione ERP modules — ScalaSteel and Wire Visione run on the same shell.

Stock movement is funnelled through a single function, preventing prescriptions, vaccines, and invoices from each deducting stock separately.
